Lade Biography Parents and Early Life

Omoladé Oyetundun Rachael popularly known as Lade was born in Lagos on November 2016 but she hails from Kwara state.

She was the only child of her parents, her father was a retired naval officer and her mother was into Buying and selling. Being the only child made her to be getting attention the most. She wasn’t beaten when she was small, and neither did she have any bad experiences.

Sensational singer Lade had her primary and secondary school education in Nigeria. In a published interview she stated she went to the University of Ilorin where she obtained a degree in Mass communication.

There has been speculation Lade abandoned her university education to pursue her music career which is now fulfilling and rewarding.

Revealing why she paused her education to pursue music She wrote;

“The highest sacrifice I have made for music is putting a pause on my academics”, Ladé said. “It’s alright to make sacrifices for what you believe in, juggling both music and academics is feasible but I have way too much passion for music, so I chose music. Music gives me fulfillment and makes me happy.

There is no age restriction to education and at my convenience, I will eventually go to school and pursue what I am passionate about. I’m a very creative person and I do well with my imagination. Right now I’m focusing solely on making music.”

Lade Musical Career

Onyetundun Omolade Racheal was a naturally gifted singer. She started making music when she was small but took it seriously in 2015. Sometimes she will record songs that she and her friends will listen to. While studying at the University of Ilorin in Kwara state, she won the third season of the Unilorin Idol in 2017.

The Nigerian singer’s musical style is a mixture of R&B, Highlife and Afro-pop. The Gifted singer from Kwara state started soaring the glory ladder when she did a cover of Simi’s song “Duduke.”, Khaid “With you” and “Playboy ”Fireboy DML.

Lade’s voice sounded so similar to Teni’s that everyone believed Teni was the voice behind the spectacular “Airtel 444 song”. To millions of music listener’s surprise, it was Lade.

She released her first track, “Smoov Groove” in 2020, which was used as the official jingle for the Smoov Chapman brand.

2022 saw her release her breakthrough song “Adulthood Anthem” which made massive waves across music streaming platforms. Days after its release it had more than 2 million streams.

The singer maintained she was inspired by the Country’s economic condition and her current stage of life to produce the “Adulthood anthem”. The rising singer said the success of the adulthood anthem blew her mind.
