During the COVID-19 pandemic, on December 14, 2020. Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems were arrested after they performed in a show in Uganda. The Ugandan Police Authority charged them on the account of violating COVID-19 regulations and communicated that the charges were for “negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious disease” C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act).”
